SL CODES™ & SPENCE”S LIST™

This page is part of a series dealing with researching shipwrecks. It is an explanation of the data codes used in Spence's List™ of shipwrecks. SL Codes™ are alpha-numeric codes used to organize shipwreck data in various versions of Spence's List™. You do not need to understand them to use or enjoy this book. However, for the more serious researcher the following information is provided. SL Codes™ are based on an easy to understand system. SL Codes™ are divided into five sections and are designed to answer five different questions at a glance. Each of the five sections of the SL Code™ is separated by a dash.
